Shiprock marathon and relays

First leg in the shiprock marathon relay for the hospital team. Ran a 42:37 min 5 mile run. Goal was to run an 8 min/mile pace. Almost got it.

Thanks for the kudos on my 1/2 mary. My injury is getting better daily now so I am happy with that! Be careful if you mess with your natural running form. I’m fairly certain it was trying to land more on my forefoot that caused my peroneal tendinitis. Messing with your stride has a very high risk for injury so it is best to do it very gradually and slowly. I’ve found that as your pace increases, you naturally land more on the front of your foot as opposed to your heal. You can also shorten your stride and increase your running cadence a bit and that will help.
Tread carefully though if you are making changes…that’s what did me in!
